Are you aware of the exact misunderstanding each of your students have during instruction? Are you able to modify your instruction based on those misunderstandings in a way that meets each of their needs? Are you thinking, how in the world do I have time for that?! Join Sarah Henry, district alignment coach, author, consultant and former science teacher to gain a better understanding of practical ways to gather intentional data that can inform your instruction and PLC conversations. You will also gain a better understanding of practical ways to differentiate your instruction based on the data collected. Finally, you will apply your understanding in the development of an upcoming lesson specific to your classroom that incorporates the tips learned in our time together.
Sarah Henry
I began in the classroom as a middle school science teacher, in Austin ISD, in Austin, Texas. I continued my work as a middle school science teacher in Brownsburg Community School Corporation & MSD of Washington Township in Indiana. The past eleven years I have served as the Secondary Science Administrator for Brownsburg Community School Corporation where I worked with secondary (6th-12th grade) science teachers to improve curriculum, instruction, assessment, and PLC processes.? I have presented workshops at the local, state, and national level as well as work with educational consulting for districts around the state. I also taught aspiring educational leaders, as an adjunct professor, in the area of Assessing for Learning for several years at the University of Indianapolis. Co-authoring “Arrows”, has provided me with new opportunities to positively impact student lives through additional consulting and district alignment work around the Midwest.
