Wabash Valley Education Center Wabash Valley Education Center This two-day training is for anyone utilizing the RISE, RISE Modified or other teacher evaluation tools. Anyone who will serve as the primary or secondary evaluator will need to be trained.
This training will provide:
- Overview of the law and legal requirements regarding evaluations for certified staff.
- Deep dive into the RISE Evaluation Rubric to identify essential practices needed for student success.
- Opportunities to learn about, and discus high impact instructional strategies and techniques that have the greatest impact on student learning and achievement.
- Opportunities to observe instruction, take notes, and provide feedback. Strategies for conferencing with teachers, providing meaningful feedback, and using observations for growth as a school will be shared and discussed.
This 2-day training will be held on January 20 and January 25 from 9:00-Noon EST each day.
Tami Hicks is an Indiana native that has worked in the public school system as both a teacher and administrator before accepting her current position as the Director of Professional Learning at Wabash Valley Education Center, a center that provides Professional Development, Technology and Cooperative Purchasing support for 37 school districts and more than 180 schools, K-12. Tami is a certified RISE trainer and specializes in EL instruction, the State Standards, instructional design, technology integration and literacy instruction. Outside of work, Tami enjoys spending time with her family, reading, listening to music and gardening.

*Cost of all workshops are based on membership in an Indiana Educational Service Center (ESC). Any registrants who are not members of an ESC in the state of Indiana will be required to pay the non-member fee.

WVEC CANCELLATION POLICY:
* Registrants who notify WVEC of their cancellation on or before the registration deadline date will not be required to pay the registration fee.
* Registrants who cancel after the registration deadline but before the workshop date or call to cancel on the day of the workshop will pay 50% of the registration fee.
* Registrants who neglect to call or notify the WVEC of their cancellation will be responsible for paying the full fee.
* On official school corporation weather-related cancellation days, registrants will not be required to pay registration fees.
