Wabash Valley Education Center Wabash Valley Education Center Student engagement is definitely a hot topic in education. Allowing students to be in charge of their own learning increases their level of engagement, effort, and responsibility. Giving students choices can come in many different formats. This session is for teachers in grades K-12 who are looking for practical, ready-to-use ideas to add student choice to daily lessons.
Melissa Walley
Melissa Walley is the Educational Technology Specialist for Hanover Community School Corporation, located in Cedar Lake, Indiana. She has over twenty years of experience in education, with five of those years in educational technology. Melissa has teaching experience in kindergarten through third grade and also has experience as an elementary school principal. In her current role with Hanover Community Schools, she is in charge of the elementary computer science curriculum and programming for the district, as well as grades 5-12 instructional technology coaching. She has worked on the implementation of technology integration through Google Classroom and Schoology. Melissa is also a Digital Learning Coach for Keep Indiana Learning. Her goal is to support all educators and help them feel successful as they step out of their comfort zones.

*Cost of all workshops are based on membership in an Indiana Educational Service Center (ESC). Any registrants who are not members of an ESC in the state of Indiana will be required to pay the non-member fee.

* Registrants who notify WVEC of their cancellation on or before the registration deadline date will not be required to pay the registration fee.
* Registrants who cancel after the registration deadline but before the workshop date or call to cancel on the day of the workshop will pay 50% of the registration fee.
* Registrants who neglect to call or notify the WVEC of their cancellation will be responsible for paying the full fee.
* On official school corporation weather-related cancellation days, registrants will not be required to pay registration fees.
