Join Amy Highland, the Director of Collections at Mt. Cuba Center, as she shares her journey with Trillium conservation in the Eastern United States. As the national collection holder for Trillium, Mt. Cuba Center houses over 80 forms of trillium. These iconic spring wildflowers were recently the focus of a report outlining the conservation statuses of Trillium and threats to its persistence in the wild. This information will guide future conservation decision making. From stories in the field to outlining new hope, Amy will prepare you for your spring wildflower viewing.

This talk is paired with an excursion to the Melrose Mountain Preserve in Polk County. Registration details will be announced soon.

The North Carolina Botanical Garden has partnered with the Friends of Plant Conservation to offer several excursions and Lunchbox Talks that highlight some of our state's rarest plants and natural areas.
