Audience

School Administrators, School Counselors, School Psychologists and others in leadership positions who respond to school crises.


Goals

Connect is an evidence-based Postvention training which offers to meet the following objectives:

  • Best practices on how to coordinate a comprehensive and safe response to a death by suicide.
  • Strategies for reducing the risk of contagion review of the complexity of suicide-related grief, especially for different age groups.
  • Recommendations for memorial activities.
  • Suggestions on how to talk to survivors of suicide loss to promote their healing.
  • Best practices for safe messaging about suicide and responding to the media.
  • Identification of community resources to promote healing.

Description

This in-person training will provide guidance and processing time for community leaders to support communities that have experienced death by suicide.
