2) Generated a list of criteria to use when assessing curriculum.

3) Articulated the key aspects of a good anchoring Phenomenon.

4) Participated in a talk structure that can be used in your classroom.

Description

In this session, we will engage in a hands-on sensemaking activity that will demonstrate how anchoring phenomena can be used to help engage learners. Specifically, we will be focusing on what to look for when evaluating curriculum or units, and evaluating anchoring phenomena. Lastly we will use a talk structure that can be used in your classroom, the next time you want students to discuss a concept. We encourage districts to send an elementary teacher as well as a secondary teacher. Administrators are welcome as well, so they can see how to best support the science teachers in their buildings.
