Please note: This is the fourth session out of eight total. The 2024 Head and Neck education tentative dates are January 10/January 11, April 10/April 11, July 10/July 11, and October 9/October 10.

 

 

Attendance is not required at all sessions but is highly encouraged. This event will be recorded for online use.

  • $0 for Methodist Health System employees, NMHS retirees, NMC alumni, NMC students (do not receive CE)

Audience

We welcome nurses, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals working with head and neck patients.


Details

The purpose of this program is to educate healthcare professionals in order to provide improved patient care to head and neck patients utilizing current evidenced-based practices.

 

Program Objectives:

  • Discuss different reconstructive ladder and options
  • Discuss wound care strategies
  • Discuss major complications associated with head and neck surgery (carotid blow out, neck hematoma, loss of flap)

 

In order to receive continuing education hours for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at the entire activity
  • Completion/submission of evaluation form

Occupational Therapist and Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 1.0 clock hours for Nebraska occupational therapists and certified occupational therapist assistants.

 

Speech Therapy: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 1.0 clock hours for Nebraska Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.

 

Respiratory Therapists: This program meets the continuing education criteria for 1.0 clock hours for Nebraska Respiratory Care Practitioners.

 

Education Credit: 1.0 Education hours. Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development assigns education hours based on 60 minutes of classroom instruction for each offering. Participants may use these for their professional continuing education hours and toward re-licensure if so approved within the standards and guidelines of their discipline.
