Cost: $48.00 for general registrants.

 

Methodist Health System employees who provide their employee ID number on the registration form may take this course at no cost. NMC Alumni who provide graduation year and last name at graduation may take this course at no cost. NMC students can attend at no cost but do not receive CE.

Nurses, Physicians, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other Healthcare professionals caring for orthopedic patients.


Details

This program will provide current information and evidence-based guidelines that will enhance clinical and professional practices related to the care of orthopedic patients.

 

Program Objectives:

  • Discuss prevention and treatment for joint infections in total replacement surgeries
  • Identify interventions used during aquatic therapy post orthopedic surgery
  • Discuss recommendations for dry needling
  • Identify interventions used when caring for the patient with Rhabdomyolysis

 

In order to receive continuing education hours for this event, you must meet the following completion requirements:

  • Attendance at the entire activity
  • Completion/submission of evaluation form

Continuing Education

Nurses: 3.75 contact hours awarded. Midwest Multistate Division Provider Approval # NE1025-1. Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development is approved with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Midwest Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

 

Education Credit: 3.75 Education hours. Nebraska Methodist College Division of Professional Development assigns education hours based on 60 minutes of classroom instruction for each offering. Participants may use these for their professional continuing education hours and toward re-licensure if so approved within the standards and guidelines of their discipline.

 

Occupational Therapy and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 3.75 clock hours for Nebraska occupational therapists and certified occupational therapy assistants.

 

Physical Therapy And Physical Therapist Assistants: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 3.75 clock hours for Nebraska physical therapists and physical therapist assistants.

 

Physicians: The Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development is accredited by the Nebraska Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

 

The Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

Social Work: This offering meets the continuing education criteria for 3.75 clock hours for Nebraska Social Workers.
