The registration period has closed for this event.
During Advent, on the four Sundays leading up to Christmas, Christians traditionally light candles in an Advent wreath during worship. The candles represent the light Christ brings to a world of darkness, and the evergreen wreath that symbolizes God’s eternity.
This year, wherever and however you worship – online, television or in person, you can join in lighting the Advent candles. We’ve prepared an Advent devotional guide to use as we light the Advent candles together during worship, and then to continue your reflection and sharing with your family after worship. If you don’t have an Advent wreath, you can purchase a kit with greenery and candles for $5 or check out some of the DIY ideas for making a simple one. We also have special family experience kits to share with your children.
Advent Wreath Kit: Order online and pick up at your campus November 22 or 29 between 12:30 and 2:30 pm. The $5 wreath kit includes a wreath and the purple, pink and white candles that will be lit each week. You’ll also get the devotional guide and a postcard you can use to invite friends to join you for worship.
Family Experience Kit: Register for your free kit here. For families with elementary age children and younger, this kit includes an Advent Calendar, devotion, conversation starters, service projects, and more fun surprises. The theme is “Be the Light” and takes you through the Advent season. Pick up your family kit at your campus November 22 or 29 between 12:30 and 2:30 pm.
DIY Advent Experience: Beginning November 22, you can download resources to join in lighting the candles each week and sharing Advent with your family. Resources for both adults and children will include devotional guides, wreath instructions, printable materials and videos.
