About This Class

This two-session childbirth class is ideal for couples who want a fast-paced class, and who learn best by participating in activities and practice sessions.

 

By watching short videos and participating in a series of discussions and interactive activities, you'll learn:

  • What to expect during labor
  • How to cope with contractions
  • Relaxation strategies
  • Breathing techniques
  • Information about pain medications and epidurals
  • Medical procedures used to resolve common labor complications

 

You'll leave class with a variety of options for coping with labor pain, a birth preferences plan, and a basic postpartum plan.


Class Details
  • This is an instructor-led, live virtual class.
  • This class requires that you keep your camera on for the full session. If you prefer an off camera class, please consider our Understanding Birth eClass.
  • Class meets Saturday & Sunday from 1:00 PM-5:00 PM.
  • A labor support partner is required for this class.
  • Attend between 28-38 weeks of pregnancy.
  • We recommend you attend the Virtual Maternity Tour prior to taking this class if you are delivering at the Pavilion for Women.
