For grandparents, pregnancy and babies may seem like familiar territory. However, much has changed over the years including medical guidelines, products and new information to improve the care of mothers-to-be, new mothers and their babies. This class helps grandparents get up to speed.

• Prenatal care
• Labor and delivery practices
• Postpartum care, including recognizing postpartum depression
• How to support a new mother's breastfeeding
• Navigating the transition from parent to grandparent
• Supporting the new family in the first weeks and beyond
• Reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
• Infant safety, including car and pet safety

Basic Baby Care will provide you with a refresher on diapering, bathing, swaddling, and interacting with a newborn. These topics are not included in Grandparent's Class.
