The 6th Annual Innovations in Periodontics Symposium | Advanced Applications for Piezocision in Contemporary Orthodontic Treatment

Friday, October 8, 2021    Live Interactive Webinar 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM CST

The past decade has seen a surge in innovations pertaining to the field of orthodontics, aimed at shortening the length of the treatment for adult patients. Piezocision™ is an orthodontically guided surgical procedure, which has progressed from being a minimally invasive surgical alternative to conventional corticotomies to finally a more sophisticated procedure, where the orthodontist is given the tools to control the anchorage value of teeth by selectively altering the bone density surrounding them, This is accomplished by using the piezoelectric knife at key time intervals, in an effort to successfully and elegantly solve orthodontic challenges.

Additionally, the Department of Periodontics will showcase Advanced Education program case reviews that offer discussion and interaction from what is evident and not evident in periodontal treatment of today's ever-changing, demographically-challenged patient community.

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to:

  • Gain familiarity with the principles of accelerated tooth movement, including the history and biology
  • Understand concepts Corticotomy, Piezocision Surgical Technique, etc.
  • Understand hard and soft tissue augmentation
  • Understand digital planning
