Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology is not always about oral cancer, canker sores and lichen planus. Occasionally, there is a twist to this story. In this course, we will step beyond the mundane. Join for a three-hour tour of unusual and at times bizarre pathological processes encountered in the practice of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. The human body is intriguing and frequently throws curve balls that result in unusual oral and jawbone findings. We will see many such examples that required an out of the box diagnostic thought process. Clinical pictures, x-rays and photomicrographs documenting these various diseases will be used in this course. A brief description will accompany some of the rarer conditions. .

Dr. Yeshwant Rawal is a Professor in the Department of Surgical Sciences at the Marquette University School of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate and Director of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. Dr. Rawal has 30 years of experience in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology. He has held several national level leadership positions in the field of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology. In addition to his academic and teaching activities, Dr. Rawal is also a reviewer for many journals and was on the editorial board of the journal 'Head and Neck Pathology' of the North American Society of Head and Neck Pathology. Dr. Rawal maintains busy scholarly activity with invited presentations, CE courses and over 65 publications and abstracts.
