Course Objective:An Electrical Plans Examiner will be responsible for reviewing submitted plans to determine if they meet the requirements of the various Electrical Codes and Standards that have been adopted by his / her jurisdiction. At this level of certification, the Examiner shall be able to review plans for any size of structure in any occupancy classification.
THESE CLASSES ARE NOT CONSIDERED EXAM PREP, BUT IF YOU KNOW THE CODES AND CAN DO A PLAN REVIEW, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PASS THE ICC EXAM. WE ARE GOING TO ASSUME YOU KNOW THE CODES BEFORE COMING TO THIS CLASS. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THE CODES, WE SUGGEST YOU ATTENDING THE COMMERCIAL INSPECTOR CLASS FOR THE TRADE YOU ARE TAKING.

South Carolina LLR
This class will consist of three days of simulated plan reviews, covering the most significant code provisions used during the plan review process.
John England has been involved in the construction industry for over 40 years. He started at the age of 15 rebuilding shrimp boats in Charleston, SC. Became a Master Electrician and operated a small remodeling firm until 1992. Holds over 30 ICC certifications and is a Master Code Official.
John started England Enterprises Inc., which grew to over 25 employees, doing residential and commercial code inspections and plan reviews. He operated this company for over 20 years selling it to a Colorado Based Inspection Company in 2012. Most notable contracts were the code inspections of public schools and state buildings in South Carolina, as well as running acting as the Building Official for many jurisdictions in South Carolina and Tennessee.
England Training LLC., Was started in 1996 and trains over 3,000 contractors, architects, engineers and code officials in the US and Caribbean in a given year.
Mr. England also acts as an expert witness in local, state and federal courts.
