Connect with acclaimed casting directors who have cast legions of TV, Radio, Interactive, and Animation projects. Casting directors can illuminate how to go beyond technique to ignite the content and story, and highlight what really stands out in an audition.
At the Professional level, students are expected to perform with a high degree of competence, technique, acting skill, and a well-developed ability to take direction. Please attend class in your working voice over booth or broadcast-quality recording space.
This class is held on Zoom. Class will not be recorded.
Class size is limited to 12 students
Carrie Faverty runs VO casting at Heard City, one of New York City's top studios. She started VO casting in 2006 at Sound Lounge, where she developed and ran their casting division for 14 years. In her years of casting, Carrie has cast for union and non union talent on tv and radio commercials, as well as video games, animation, documentaries, narrations, promos, and anything else audio related. In a continuing effort to find and develop new talent, she teaches VO through her own course, VO Bootcamp. And she’s also an avid karaoke-er and loves a chilled martini.
SAG-AFTRA, California's Labor laws, and the Krekorian Talent Scam Prevention Act state that casting workshops are allowed under the law but cannot offer auditions or employment as part of their services. By registering for a class taught by a talent agent, casting director, producer, or actor who hires talent, you are fully aware that it is not a job interview or audition. By attending a class through a Talent Training and Counseling Service, you further understand that the intent of the class is solely educational.
