Equity and Access in Mathematics: Year-long Remote PL Course for Teachers

This course will meet seven times over the course of the 2021-2022 school year. Participants are required to commit to attending all seven sessions. Participants will collaborate with a consistent cohort of colleagues in this grade-banded course (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12) as they: 

  • engage with Mathematics Teaching Practices identified by the National Council of Teachers that increase rigor by placing student agency and empowerment at the center of mathematics teaching and learning and promote equity based teaching of mathematics;
  • deepen their own mathematics content knowledge;
  • collect and analyze evidence of student thinking to make data-based decisions to improve core instruction, and implement asset-based interventions; and 
  • experience, learn and implement routines and practices that provide socio-emotional supports and build a positive mathematics learning environment. 


This 7-session course will be offered multiple times at each grade band (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, HS). Participants can select one of the following options:

All sessions will be remote. We are unable to provide coverage, per diem, or per session for attendance at our sessions. CTLE credit will be provided to all attendees.
