This two-day professional learning experience will help teachers learn to use math instructional routines to engage diverse learners in critical Algebra 1 content. Participants will explore how the standards for mathematical practice both support students in building conceptual understanding and leveraging that understanding to accelerate learning.
Session 1: Connecting Representations is an instructional routine designed to help students Look for and make use of structure (SMP 7).
Session 2: Decide and Defend is an instructional routine designed to help students construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others (SMP3).
February 21 & 22 from 1:30PM-3:30PM. This session will be remote.
