The SWCOEH Industrial Hygiene Seminar Series is presented by industrial hygienists, safety professionals, and other public health professionals to discuss emerging issues, trends in technology, current research, and applicable tools for use in the field. Industry professionals and academic experts provide practical lessons in management, equipment, compliance, and the latest in research and technology.

Silvia Maberti is a graduate of the UT-Houston School of Public Health. Currently, she is a senior exposure scientist at ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, Inc, where she has worked in a variety of projects including occupational, community and consumer exposure modeling, as well as supporting the organization on regulatory compliance. She has been actively engaged in the TSCA risk evaluation methodology development, particularly related to occupational exposure assessments. |

Alex is a Supervisory Industrial Hygienist for the Department of Defense, and a recognized subject matter expert in noise and air sampling for a variety of industry settings. Alongside supervising a team of Industrial Hygienists, Alex is also an adjunct instructor at a local university. He has a passion for helping others understand the importance of workplace safety and has dedicated his career to promoting safe and healthy working environments. Alex is a highly respected professional in his field and is committed to providing innovative solutions to challenging industrial hygiene problems. He is an active member of several professional organizations, and frequently gives presentations at local and national levels on the latest developments within the environmental, safety, and health field. |

Jorge is employed by the U.S. Dept. of Labor-OSHA for the past 11 years, 8 of those as an enforcement officer, and now serves as a Compliance Assistance Specialist (CAS). As a CAS duties are to provide general information about OSHA's compliance assistance resources and how to comply with OSHA standards. |

The Southwest Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (SWCOEH) supports research, education, and outreach in occupational and environmental health. The SWCOEH is housed within the Department of Epidemiology, Human Genetics and Environmental Sciences of the UTHealth School of Public Health.
The SWCOEH was established in 1977 as a NIOSH-funded Education and Research Center (ERC), now one of 18 ERCs in the nation. In 1985, the SWCOEH became a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Occupational Health.
The mission of the SWCOEH Continuing Education (CE) Program is to serve as a training resource for professionals and decision-makers in the occupational and environmental health fields by delivering specialized courses in response to current training needs. Our ultimate goal is to improve occupational and environmental health. Our core subject areas are occupational medicine, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, hazardous substances and materials, and occupational health nursing.
