Please visit the resources found at this link: https://padlet.com/swcdc/itssids You’ll want to browse through those resources and complete the affidavit prior to attending our SIDS session. Also, at the end of this email is the Zoom link for the training. Simply click on the link at the training time and you will be able to join the meeting. A phone number will also be provided if you have trouble with your computer’s audio. Feel free to contact either Natalie Daugherty or Alisa Stephens if you have trouble logging in during the training time. We will all be co-teaching the course and will all be available at any time from now until the end to assist with any questions with either completing the coursework or other questions and please feel free to reach out. Each participant will receive 2.0 CHC for attending and completing all required coursework.
Hope Buckner is the Regional Birth - Three Specialist for Southwestern Child Development and covers the thirteen most western counties. She has worked in early childhood education since 2010. Most of those years have been spent in the classroom as an Infant/toddler teacher. She graduated from Western Carolina University in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Birth-Kindergarten.
She is currently holds her Level 11 NC Early Education Certification with Professional Development and Technical Assistant Endorsement from the NC Institute for Child Development Professional to offer support to all early childhood teachers. In her free time she enjoys puzzles, music and baseball.
Natalie comes to Southwestern Child Care Resource & Referral team with experience in both preschool and NC PRE-K classrooms over the past 8 years. She hold a Bachelor's in Science in Special Education with a Birth to Kindergarten add on licensure from Western Carolina. She also has a Master's in Education in Early Childhood Education and Leadership from UNC Wilmington.
Natalie also holds a level 11 NC Early Educator Certificate.
Before coming to Southwestern Child Development Commission, Natalie worked at several child care center across Buncombe County working with preschool aged children in mixed age and developmental day settings.
Natalie enjoys spending time with her three children and exploring the natural beauty of WNC.
