Registration covers up to 6 PD Clock Hours (3 Sessions). Each additional session is $25. Choose sessions from either day.

 

JANUARY 26

 

Session 1 8:30am-9:30am: Assessment is the Engine - 1 PDCH Highlights why developing one's assessment literacy is the most effective professional investment any teacher can make. This session also focuses on fundamental practices that make remote and hybrid learning easier to navigate and why teachers must keep the emotional side of assessment at the forefront.

 

Session 2 (K-8) 9:30am-12:00pm: Using Assessment to Drive Learning - 2.5 PDCH Focuses on how assessment in remote and face-to-face models can drive students to high levels of learning. This session highlights principles behind rigorous assessment design, keys to effective feedback, the development of clear success criteria, and ways students can become more invested in their own learning through purposeful efforts.

 

Session 3 (6-12) 1:00pm-3:30pm: Using Assessment to Drive Learning - 2.5 PDCH Focuses on how assessment in remote and face-to-face models can drive students to high levels of learning. This session highlights principles behind rigorous assessment design, keys to effective feedback, the development of clear success criteria, and ways students can become more invested in their own learning through purposeful efforts.

 

FEBRUARY 2

 

Session 4 8:30am-9:30am: Q&A for Administrators and Instructional Leaders - 1 PDCH

 

Session 5 (K-8) 9:30am-12:00pm: Accurate Grading in Remote Learning - 2.5 PDCH Focuses on the purpose of summative assessment to ensure teachers are able to accurately determine student proficiency. Focuses on how to create a seamless relationship between instruction and grading, the big ideas that ensure grades are valid and reliable, and essential practices for adequate sampling of evidence. Participants come to know why a percentage-based system offers the illusion of precision and why traditional grading practices hold students less accountable to learning.

 

Session 6 (6-12) 1:00pm-3:30pm: Accurate Grading in Remote Learning - 2.5 PDCH Focuses on the purpose of summative assessment to ensure teachers are able to accurately determine student proficiency.
