Title: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills Training

This training will support clinicians understanding of how skills training is implemented in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Focusing on the four skills training modules: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance and Interpersonal Effectiveness. The goals of skills training and how to target therapy interfering behavior will also be discussed.

1. Participants will learn how to structure a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills training group and the goals of skills training.

2. Participants will learn about the four Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills modules-Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Distress Tolerance and Mindfulness.

3. Participants will learn to target therapy interfering behaviors.

4. Participants will increase their understand of how to support clients around skills generalization.

Samantha Mishne is currently the clinical director of Bellefaire JCB and has been an adjunct professor at Mandel's School of Applied Social Sciences for 14 years.
