Basics of Accounting and Budgeting will illustrate the basics of the accounting and budgeting process. The basic accounting equation will be reviewed, financial statements and accounting ratios will be explored. Types of budgeting and the budget cycle will be illustrated. Helpful cost accounting techniques such as break-even analysis and sensitivity analysis will be shared. Students will gain hands-on experience working through realistic in-class problems. This course is for professionals new to accounting and/or budgeting or people wanting to start their own business.
