The Short-Term Substitute (STS) Teacher Training is required for anyone who has or wants to pursue a Short-Term Substitute license. This training will engage participants in conversation and the exploration of topics pertinent in today's classrooms to support students. Curriculum, classroom management techniques, school safety, and general district/building operations will be covered. Please join us to start your journey toward becoming a short-term substitute teacher!

3.5 PDHs and an Evidence of Completion Form will be awarded.

After this training, participants will need to apply for and be granted a valid Short-Term Substitute (STS) Teaching license with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). Once an STS license has been obtained, the license holder will be able to apply in any public school district statewide for a substitute position(s). Please visit district websites, Employment, to look for job opportunities. All hiring will be determined by individual school districts.
