In this lecture, you will learn how Ronkonkoma, a sleepy, rural farming community became a playground for the rich and famous before it evolved into a seasonal beach pavilion community. Our speaker, author Frederick J. Kraics III, who grew up in Ronkonkoma and graduated from Connetquot High School, spent nearly 20 years researching and collecting photographs for his two-volume book Ronkonkoma Remembered: A West Side Story. After the talk, books will be available for purchase.
