Description:
With the advent of digital dentistry, clinicians find themselves inundated with new materials, hardware, and software in daily practice. A thorough comprehension of the technologies will help us integrate digital solutions to promote communication, as well as accelerating treatment processes, and optimizing treatment outcomes. This presentation will allow dentists to become familiar with the digital workflow with an emphasis on the implementation of the additive manufacturing, namely 3D printing technology for dental implant surgeries. The various 3D technologies (FDM, SLA and DLP) and their pros and cons will be discussed. Various clinical scenarios will be presented to demonstrate advantages and challenges of digital technologies.

At HSDM, Dr. Chen was selected as a Presidential Scholar and at graduation was the recipient of both the James H. Shaw Award for Excellence in biomedical research and the Joseph L. Henry Award which recognizes excellence in research and clinical training from Harvard. Dr. Chen is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She maintains a clinical practice limited to periodontology and implantology in the Faculty Group Practice at the Harvard Dental Center. Chia-Yu (Jennifer) Chen, DDS, DMSc is a full-time faculty member and instructor in Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM). Dr. Chen received her DDS from Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan and completed her periodontology training and DMSc in oral biology at HSDM.

Cancellation Policy:
We reserve the right to cancel, modify course date, revise course content, and revise program faculty and activities. Registered participants will be notified if a course is revised or cancelled, as warranted. In the event a course is cancelled, tuition will be refunded.
All registrations are subject to the ULSD Cancellation Policy. This is a 'non-limited' attendance course.
ULSD must receive your written request for cancellation not later than two-weeks prior to course start date to process a refund. A 30% processing fee will be deducted from the refund. Course Registrants who are a 'NO-SHOW' forfeit course tuition.
