Description:

This course is suitable for general dentists, pediatric dentists, endodontists, and other dentists who are interested in dental trauma to the permanent dentition. The course will include information from the most recent guidelines by the International Association of Dental Traumatology that were published in 2020.

 

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

 

  1. Discuss the etiology and classification of traumatic injuries.
  2. Discuss the diagnosis of pulp necrosis following traumatic injuries.
  3. Discuss the classification and management of root resorption.
  4. Describe critical issues in the management of complicated crown fracture, root fracture, extrusion, intrusion, and avulsion.

Speaker

 Ashraf F. Fouad, DDS, MS is professor and chair of the Department of Endodontics and director of the Advanced Endodontics Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. Dr. Fouad obtained his DDS, certificate of Endodontics, and MS at the University of Iowa. Previously he served on the faculty, and in various administrative roles, at the University of Connecticut, University of Maryland, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Fouad has published over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 24 textbook chapters, and 140 abstracts. He edited and co-authored textbooks Endodontic Microbiology (now in its second edition) and Endodontics: Principles and Practice (fifth and sixth editions). Dr. Fouad is a diplomate and past president of the American Board of Endodontics and associate editor of the Journal of Endodontics.

We reserve the right to cancel, modify course date, revise course content, and revise program faculty and activities. Registered participants will be notified if a course is revised or cancelled, as warranted. In the event a course is cancelled, tuition will be refunded.

All registrations are subject to the ULSD Cancellation Policy. This is a 'non-limited' attendance course.

ULSD must receive your written request for cancellation not later than two-weeks prior to course start date to process a refund. A 30% processing fee will be deducted from the refund. Course Registrants who are a 'NO-SHOW' forfeit course tuition.
