The Application Trainings will meet on Friday, February 11th and April 8th from 8:30-12:30.

There are 2 self-paced online units which must be completed prior to your Application Trainings. You will have about 16 hours of content to complete with each unit being about 8 hours.

Unit 1: Observational Assessment (which you will complete before the first Application Training day)
Unit 2. Powerful Interactions (which you will complete before the second Application Training day)

Upon registering, you will receive a letter with instructions on how to order your book and complete the 2 online units in Canvas.

Intentional Teaching is a FOCUS requirement for NM PreK, Title I, and Special Education teachers, EA's and long term substitutes. It must be completed within 2 months of hire. It is also a requirement for Instructional Coaches and Administrators. Administrators have the option to complete this training in the PED Online FOCUS Leadership Academy.

Facilitator

Sarah Lentz is an Early Childhood Instructional Coach with the Central Region Education Cooperative (CREC). She earned her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education with a concentration on Teacher Education, and her Masters in Education with a specialization in Distance Teaching and Learning, from National University in La Jolla, California. Sarah has over 10 years of experience in early childhood education, elementary education, special education, and STEAM education. She is currently an ECIC for 21 teachers in the LasCruces Public School District.


Heleme is an Early Childhood Instructional Coach with the Central Region Education Cooperative (CREC).  She earned her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Multicultural Education in 1999, from the University of New Mexico and her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 2005, from New Mexico State University.  Heleme has over 20 years in Early Childhood education and brings to coaching her expertise in collaborative partnerships impacting teachers throughout the field.  She is currently an ECIC for the districts of Alamogordo, Animas, Lordsburg and Tularosa.
