Optimizing EHR Clinical Documentation
Nikki Blaze, RHIT, CCS Physicians are documenting more in the patient's chart with the electronic health record adoption, and clinical practices are no longer operating the same. Over time, non-standardized processes within the EHR have led to increasing use of copy/paste to complete clinic notes leading to irrelevant information captured in the note. Chart closure time affects coding and billing and could negatively impact a practice's bottom line. This presentation will share tips to revise the EHR to meet the documentation needs and reduce the burden of documentation through standardization.
