Details
This session will provide a detailed description of the concept of independence within the construct of active engagement. Identifying opportunities for increasing children’s independence will be explored along with specific guidance for making information accessible to all learners, and strategies for making social expectations accessible to all learners. Video vignettes will be used to illustrate application and adaptations made to classroom circle times as part of SEE-KS implementation.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to….
• Describe features of student independence
• Identify opportunities for increasing children’s independence
• Define strategies for promoting investment through the use of materials, routines, and peer models
