This workshop is the first in a series of workshops for novice teachers (in years 1-3 of their teaching career). During this virtual session teachers will focus on engagement strategies and discuss an asset based stance on teaching. Participants will discuss and analyze classroom management strategies and struggles. Participants will identify the characteristics of an intentionally inviting classroom and meet in community with other novice teachers.
*IF YOU ARE NOT A NOVICE TEACHER IN YEAR 1-3, YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THIS WORKSHOP.
This workshop is designed to be facilitated in an online format.

Carrie Howren
Carrie is a professional educator with over 20 years experience. She graduated from Kent State University with a B.S. in Special Education and from UNLV with a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. Carrie has provided professional learning experiences in literacy, school wide intervention, and the Nevada Educator Performance Framework. She is committed to working to support teachers and administrators in best practices in all curricular areas.
