CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs) AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOURS (PDHs)
Morgan State University (MSU), a historically black institution, has the unique designation as Maryland's Preeminent Urban Public Research University. Currently classified as a R2 status Carnegie Class Doctoral, Professions Dominant Institution, the University has made a major commitment to academic excellence. To support the goals of Morgan State, the mission of the Center for Continuing and Professional Studies is to serve the lifelong educational needs of traditional and non-traditional students pursuing undergraduate, graduate, professional, and personal growth aspirations. The Center coordinates a variety of educational activities and community services for individuals from the culturally diverse population of Baltimore City, the State of Maryland, nationally, and internationally.
As an accredited academic institution, Morgan State University offers Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and sponsors activities for CEUs/PDHs for university departments, and organizations in the State of Maryland and nationwide. The Center for Continuing and Professional Studies is the authorized unit at the institution responsible for awarding, administering, and reviewing CEUs/PDHs procedures to ensure compliance with established criteria.
The CEUs and PDHs are uniform units of measurement to record participation in non-credit academic, professional, or vocational programs. Activities that qualify for CEUs and PDHs are defined as organized continuing education experiences under competent sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction.
