Three Sessions
Like the countries they represented, artists of Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. emerged assertively from the shadow of an exhausted Europe after World War I. This seminar explores the similar aspirations and distinct styles among Diego Rivera, Thomas Hart Benton, Lawren Harris, and their contemporaries across our continent. For a time, North America provided for a pause in the pursuit of abstraction in favor of a renewed but refined appeal for representation of our continent and its peoples.
Three Sessions: $205/$184.50. Led by Joseph Harrington.
Registration is $205
