The MAISD CORE, partially funded under Michigan's 35a(4) early literacy funds and supporting literacy coaching under all funding sources is dedicated to building skill and capacity in implementing research-based literacy coaching to support all students in our Montcalm County. CORE, which stands for “Coaching Our Reading Educators,” is the goal of our members coaches, and this year, we approach that goal by diving into Student-Centered Coaching: The Moves by Diane Sweeney and Leanna Sulzer Harris. We will use this mentor text to shift towards an evidence-based model that focuses on student outcomes. For those Montcalm coaches who already attend the MAISD Coaches network (facilitated by Miranda Holmberg), which supports coaches of all types throughout our county, this offering is complementary. Attending both series will enhance your work as you begin to lean on research and mutual support from other coaches who have a specific focus on literacy.
Lunch is included with each session.
