This year’s coaching network will focus on setting yourself up for success, dealing with resistance, using effective questions and discussion techniques, debriefing, sharing best practices in engagement and strategies, and practice skills using scenarios.
Participants will explore video coaching.

Presenter(s): Miranda Holmberg, Teresa Boyer, Adel DiOrio
Miranda Holmberg has been working in public education for 29 years. She started with Carson City-Crystal Area Schools as a special education resource room teacher at Crystal Elementary for eight years. She then joined Montcalm Area Intermediate School District (MAISD) in September, 2002. Miranda continues to be employed with MAISD as an MTSS Consultant. Miranda earned both her Bachelors and Master's degrees from Grand Valley State University. Her current endorsements for special education include: Cognitive Impairments, Emotional Impairments and Learning Disabilities. Miranda completed her certification, through the University of Kansas, as a professional developer for SIM® (Strategic Instruction Model) in May, 2009 for Learning Strategies. She then completed Content Enhancement Routines in January, 2012. Miranda has led several professional development sessions with the MAISD. Miranda is also a certified CHAMPS trainer, Acadience Reading and Math Mentor, Restorative Practices Facilitator, and Explicit Instruction trainer.
Teresa Boyer graduated from Hope College in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education with an emphasis on Learning Disabilities. She received her Master's Degree from Grand Valley State University in 2011 in Special Education Administration. She is certified to teach K-12 Special Education, K-5 General Education (K-8 self-contained), and has her Teacher Consultant, Director of Special Education, and Elementary Principal approvals. She taught for 6 years in Goodhue, Minnesota in a tiny rural district with K-12 students in one classroom. Teresa then spent 4 years teaching at Sparta Middle School and Sparta High School before transitioning to the Director of Special Education for Sparta Area Schools. From there she joined MAISD as the Early Childhood Supervisor of Special Education for 6 years. Teresa became the Supervisor of Program Accountability in July of 2021. Her passion is supporting adult learners in systems level work to help make processes easy!
Adel DiOrio serves as the Associate Superintendent of Instruction for Montcalm Area Intermediate School District. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Elementary Education, a Master of Arts in Master of Arts (M.A.) in Educational Administration K-12, and a Specialist in General Education Administration (Ed.S.). She holds a Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate with teaching endorsements in Spanish and mathematics and a Michigan School Administrator Certificate with endorsements in Elementary, Secondary, and Central Office. Adel has experience and passion in the areas of establishing school and classroom culture, curricular design, assessment for learning, and student engagement strategies.
Adel is a member of the General Education Leadership Network (GELN) and serves on the GELN Disciplinary Literacy Taskforce, the Talent Together Design Team.
