This course is designed to prepare you for birth and care for a newborn. This class will focus on caring for your newborn during the first three months of your baby's life.

Whether you are new to parenting, re-entering the world of newborns or beginning this journey in a new country, Overlake is here to help you every step of the way. This class is great for grandparents, too!

Topics include:

• Understanding a newborn body and ways to hold a newborn.

• Benefits of skin-to-skin.

• Newborn characteristics, behaviors, and development.

• Diapering, swaddling, bathing.

• Recognizing hunger cues and feeding patterns.

• Understanding newborn cries and responding to their needs.

• Newborn necessities.

• American Academy of Pediatrics' recommendations for baby's health.
