This class will be held in person. Please note that social distancing measures are still in place and masks are required for all.

This class is designed to prepare you for birth and care for a newborn. This class will focus on caring for your newborn during the first three months of your baby's life.

Whether you are new to parenting, re-entering the world of newborns or beginning this journey in a new country, Overlake is here to help you every step of the way. This class is great for grandparents, too!

Topics include:

• Understanding a newborn body and ways to hold a newborn.
• Benefits of skin-to-skin.
• Newborn characteristics, behaviors, and development.
• Diapering, swaddling, bathing.
• Recognizing hunger cues and feeding patterns.
• Understanding newborn cries and responding to their needs.
• Newborn necessities.
• American Academy of Pediatrics' recommendations for baby's health.
