Managing the research and writing process can be a challenging and time-consuming skill to develop. When faculty encourage students to use the free citation manager, Zotero, they can frame it as a tool for streamlining the research, reading, note-taking, writing, collaboration, and citation process. Attendees at the session will learn the following:

  • How Zotero is much more than a citation generator
  • How scaffolding the research and writing process can include Zotero use
  • How source material synthesis and documentation transparency is supported by Zotero
  • How including subject librarians and writing center consultants supports the learning and robust application of Zotero

Panelists include:

  • Rhoda Owens, Associate Professor of Nursing
  • Cynthia Prescott, Professor of History
  • Joseph Vacek, Associate Professor of Aviation

The session will panelists will discuss how students can benefit from a tool that supports working intensely with sources and how faculty can incorporate learning Zotero into their classroom and research labs. Bring your questions and ideas!
