Amanda Major; Shelley Woodward

Amanda Major joined Coastal GLRS as Program Specialist in July 2021.  She holds a bachelor's degree from Georgia State University, a master's degree from Armstrong State University, and a specialist's degree from the University of West Georgia.  In addition to teacher certification, Amanda is endorsed as a Teacher Support Specialist (TSS) and in Educational Leadership (as of July 2021).  Amanda has 14 years of experience working in the field of special education, with experience as an interrelated special education teacher, an autism teacher, and an autism interventionist supporting teachers of students with ASD across settings.  Amanda was recognized by GLRS as Special Education Teacher of the Year for Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools in 2012.  She has presented at several state and local conferences and provided countless district-level trainings on best practices in special education. 

Shelley Woodward is the special education program specialist for Southeast GLRS. She has 13 years experience in education as a classroom teacher and instructor of special education. She founded EAGLE Academy, an inclusive post-secondary program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, during her tenure as an instructor at Georgia Southern.
     Shelley holds a BA in Art, post-baccalaureate certification in Special Education, and a M.Ed. in Reading Education from Georgia Southern University.
