Students will learn the art of stand-up comedy and have the chance to perform their own sets! This class will also cover how to write a joke, how to stand on stage, and what goes into making a stand-up set.

Melanie Zehner; Bailey Nassetta
Melanie Zehner is an actor from Syracuse, New York, who has been with ArtStream since 2017. She got her Masters in Physical Acting at the University of Kent. She also performs at Laugh Index Theatre, Capital Fringe, Museum of the Bible, and even on TV in Thespian, Thou Shalt Not, and House of Cards. During the day, she is an SAG Actor, a mentor/writer/actor at the Museum of the Bible, and performs sketch and improv! In her spare time, she likes to read, write, drink cups of tea, and try new vegan food. “Defy Gravity!”
Bailey Nassetta is a Brooklyn based Director, Administrator, and Teaching Artist. Currently, Bailey is the Director of Classes at The People's Improv Theater. Her most recent directing work includes "Missing 411" (The Recovery Lounge), "Tortle & Friends" (The Nyuorican), "Birdbrains" (The Recovery Lounge,The Deep End). Bailey has been working with ArtStream as a Teaching Artist for the past 3 years.
