Uplifting Maternal Mental Health Pilot Training

Cicatelli Associates, Inc. (CAI), with support from Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), is developing training resources for a pilot project on maternal depression, Uplifting Maternal Mental Health. CAI is inviting community health workers (CHWs) who are working with perinatal clients to participate. Eligible participants are those with home visiting, case management responsibilities who are working with clients on an ongoing basis over several months.

 

Participants will attend 6 total hours of remote training on April 26-27 or May 3-4.

 

Additionally, participants are expected to complete three 30-minute online modules and be available for a 1-hour interview or focus group for feedback.

Description

Cicatelli Associates, Inc. (CAI), with support from Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), is developing training resources for a pilot project on maternal depression, Uplifting Maternal Mental Health. CAI is inviting community health workers (CHWs) who are working with perinatal clients to participate. Eligible participants are those with home visiting, case management responsibilities who are working with clients on an ongoing basis over several months.


As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Practice client-centered communication skills to build rapport and support clients
  2. Analyze beliefs that arise when talking about maternal depression with clients
  3. Practice crafting educational messages about maternal depression


Important Note

CAI will offer two pilot trainings in Spring 2022.

 

The expectation is for participants to complete three 30-minute online modules, attend 6 total hours of remote training (April 26-27 or May 3-4), and be available for a 1-hour interview or focus group for feedback before CAI finalizes the training for national distribution in Fall 2022.

 

The modules will be made available at least 2 weeks prior to the remote training and must be completed before participating in the remote training.
