Course Textbook

Each registrant will be supplied with Compliance Guide as part of your registration fee. You must register at least six business days in advance of the course start date to secure a Compliance Guide for the course. Otherwise, a Compliance Guide will be mailed to your preferred address after the course.

About the Course

This accelerated one-day RCRA is designed to serve as both an initial and refresher course to assist in meeting the 40 CFR 262.34(a) and 40 CFR 265.16 training requirements. Topics include waste characterization, treatment standards, generator responsibilities, emergencies, and waste shipments.

Course Details

• Breaks will be taken intermittently during the training with at least one 15-minute break during each four hours of instruction. Shorter breaks will be taken as needed.

• Course fee includes coffee and donuts for breakfast and lunch in the McNeese cafeteria.

• Course fee includes student manual, ERG, and the latest issue of the Hazardous Materials, Substances & Wastes Compliance Guide.

• Attendees should bring pens and highlighters.

About the Instructor

Jeffrey L. Campbell is a Chemist with over 30 years of experience in transportation and safe handling of hazardous materials. He has worked in process labs at oil refineries and ethanol plants and has been an approval chemist and manager at hazardous waste treatment facilities. He currently works as an instructor and consultant for Environmental Team Resources providing training and consulting services throughout the United States and abroad. He was authorized by the Department of Transportation in 1998 to present their Hazardous Materials Transportation by Ground and Air. He's an authorized OSHA General Industry and authorized OSHA Construction Instructor, RSO NORM/Decon Instructor, Instructor of Hazardous Waste Operations, a Licensed MSW A-Operator, and conducts courses on RCRA Waste Characterization and Management, First Aid, CPR, and AED as an Adjunct instructor for the American Red Cross, RSO NORM/TNORM, DOT Hazmat by Air, Ground, Vessel, or Rail, DOT Big Rig Defensive Driving, Medical Waste, Spill Response, Accident Investigation, Fork Lift Safety, OSHA Reporting, and more. 

Mr. Campbell obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Education at McNeese State University and taught High School chemistry in the mid '80s. He has since been training in different capacities, which include teaching hazardous materials transportation to petrochemical industry employees and NASA contractors.

Refund Policy

Refunds will not be issued for this course after the registration deadline. In the event that you cannot attend, you are welcome to send another person as a replacement at no charge. In addition, you may transfer your registration payment to a future course at no cost as long as you use it within the next 12-month period. For example, if you pay for a course in July that you do not attend, you have until July 31st of the following year to transfer the payment. Furthermore, if the cost of the future course increases, you will be required to pay the difference.


The McNeese State University Institute for Industry-Education Collaboration will always make the best effort to avoid cancelling a course. This course, like any other, can be cancelled for a number of reasons. If the course is cancelled, you will be refunded the full amount. Please be aware of this possibility when making travel and hotel arrangements.
