Come play, learn, and take back 5 CCSS aligned activities that you can use with your Geometry students to engage and encourage critical thinking and discourse in the secondary mathematics classroom. Participants will engage in the 5 performance tasks themselves while working collaboratively. They will then reflect and have a chance to personalize the activities for their classroom needs. Topics that will be addressed in these performance tasks are: Transformations (G.CO.5), Right Triangle Trigonometry (G.SRT.8), Law of Sines and Law of Cosines (G.SRT.10 & G.SRT.11), Three-Dimensional Solids (G.MG.3), and Equations of Circles (G.GPE.1). The performance tasks will engage participants with Sphero Bolt Robots, Flying Drones, Tinkercad, and VR headsets and how these can be used to connect the CCSS for Geometry with these resources. Participants will receive lunch and leave with practical activities to engage students in the Geometry content.
