This training for individuals who will be serving as mentors through the tier three intervention Check & Connect. Mentors will learn about the four components, the 5-step problem solving strategy, how to use protective factors to assist with goal accomplishment and how to truly engage a student. To ensure the paraprofessionals know, understand, and can effectively apply Georgia’s Code of Ethics for Educators to their daily practice, the Paraprofessional Ethics Modules were developed by Georgia’s RESAs in collaboration with the GaPSC. The enhanced learning gained by paraprofessionals who participate in the training will help protect them, their colleagues, schools, systems, community, and most importantly their students, by increasing professional and ethical practices and school safety. The GaPSC Ethics Training for Paraprofessionals is a self-directed online module. Participants will have three weeks to complete.
